Travel Counsellors takes group on ‘exceptional’ Sri Lanka trip

Travel Counsellors is celebrating a successful week-long fam trip to Sri Lanka attended by 12 homeworkers.

The trip, organised by Columbus Tours and SriLankan Airlines, took place from September 10-18 and offered a combination of “adventure, culture and nature”, according to the homeworking agency.

Dona Kirkham, who has been with Travel Counsellors for 14 years and in the travel industry for more than 30, described herself as “blessed” to have been on the trip.

She said: “I can quite honestly say this has truly been the best fam trip I have been blessed to go on. It was an exceptional trip in every way and a great experience to share this with the rest of our Travel Counsellors community who were with me.”

This trip was organised to recognise homeworkers’ recent achievements, Travel Counsellors said, with a reward scheme being run through digital platform Phenix.

The five properties used on the trip were Taru Villas Maia in Habarana, The Kandy House in Kandy, Ceylon Tea Trails Bungalows, Fort Bazaar in Galle and The Walawwa in Kotugoda.

The itinerary included visits to Galle Dutch Fort and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, as well as a tree-planting session, a scenic train journey, a jeep safari in Minneriya National Park and an early-morning climb up Pidurangala Rock.

Kirkham said: “Columbus Tours could not have done any more for us. They made us feel extremely welcome and took the very best care of us.

“I can’t wait to start promoting the destination and all that Columbus Tours has to offer to my customers who are looking to book the most memorable and perfect holiday.”

The trip was arranged off the back of Travel Counsellors’ first influencer partnership, which took place in Sri Lanka earlier this year.
