Travel Counsellors to host events for teachers considering travel career

Travel Counsellors is to host two special information days for teachers or other education professionals considering a career in the travel industry.

It follows research commissioned by the travel agency of 2,000 people, which showed nearly half (49%) of staff in the education sector expected to leave or apply for a new job in the next 12 months. It also revealed 58% have considered starting their own business.

The ‘Discovery Days’ are tailored exclusively to professionals currently working in the education sector.

The first will be a virtual session on August 7, followed by an in-person event at the Manchester support team office on August 14, providing attendees with a first-hand look at life as a travel counsellor.

During the two days, participants can meet existing business owners, take part in workshops led by the company’s support team, learn about its business model and get an overview of the support, tools and technology provided.

Travel counsellor Cathy Chapman, a former teacher, said: Changing careers is a big decision, but if you have the passion and a strong work ethic, it’s absolutely worth it – you won’t regret it.

“The support of the entire community combined with the technology makes the earning potential fantastic, allowing me to scale my business in a way that suits me.

“Plus, a great perk for fellow teachers is the freedom to travel outside of school holidays.”

Matt Harding, director of franchise sales at Travel Counsellors, said: We understand people want to embark on an entrepreneurship journey but find the prospect daunting. At Travel Counsellors, we believe in empowering individuals from all backgrounds to find balance and fulfilment in their careers.”

He added the focused days for education professionals were an opportunity for staff to look into the potential of a career switch during their summer holiday and ensure they were fully informed before making any job decisions.
