Lastminute.com has had its knuckles rapped by the Advertising Standards Authority over an online sales promotion with Silverjet.
A banner advert appeared on the online travel agent’s website in June this year, offering a £100 e-voucher to customers making an immediate booking with the business class-only airline through the site.
The advert claimed the offer ended on June 24. However, the small print stipulated that the voucher was only available for customers making the required booking by June 18.
Lastminute.com acknowledged the error and apologised, adding that all relevant bookings made before June 24 had been honoured. The company said it would introduce additional checks to ensure the problem didn’t occur again.
ASA upheld the complaint.
