Thomas Cook has printed ‘I ♥ MCR’ on the fuselage of one of its aircraft in the wake of the Manchester terror attack which killed 22 people.
The tour operator and airline said the move was a show of solidarity for Manchester, the city in which it has its largest base.
Added on Sunday, it will remain on the body of the Airbus A321 for the whole of the summer, and has so far flown on the route between Larnaca, in Cyprus, and Manchester.
Money raised for the Thomas Cook Children’s Charity between 25 May and 30 June, such as in onboard coin collections, will be directed to projects and charities supporting those affected by the events in Manchester.
The airline says it also made a separate donation to the cause because of its affinity with the city of Manchester.
A Thomas Cook spokeswoman said: “All our employees felt last week’s events deeply and as Manchester our biggest base, we wanted to send a visual message of solidarity to the community and beyond, out to our destinations.”
