The airline uses a Boeing 747-400 aircraft on services from Glasgow with comprises 14 upper class seats, 66 premium economy seats and 375 seats in economy.
Virgin Atlantic’s joint venture partner Delta Air Lines recently started Glasgow to New York flights to compliment a new Edinburgh to New York service.
Virgin Atlantic and Delta combined now offer almost 9,000 weekly seats between Scotland and the US.
The UK carrier is celebrating 25 years of flying from the UK to Orlando this year.
Richard Myerscough, Virgin Atlantic senior vice president of sales and distribution, said: “We’ve always received a warm welcome in Glasgow and I’m delighted that we’re able to mark our 10th anniversary flying from the city with even more direct flights to Orlando.
“Our joint venture with Delta has allowed us to give our Scottish customers more routes to the US destinations they want to fly to, creating more holiday and business opportunities than ever before.”
Delta senior vice president transatlantic, Dwight James, said: “Together Delta and Virgin Atlantic are offering more travel choice than ever this year, with up to 18 weekly flights between Scotland and the US during the peak season.
“With Delta’s new non-stop service from Glasgow and our daily flight from Edinburgh, customers have easy access to the most popular destinations across the United States via our New York-JFK hub, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Francisco.”
Glasgow airport commercial director Francois Bourienne added: “The Florida service is a firm favourite with Scottish holidaymakers and during the last decade Virgin Atlantic has continually responded to strong demand by increasing both frequency and capacity on this popular route, most notably with the introduction of the iconic Boeing 747-400 aircraft back in 2011.”
