EasyJet is reported to be preparing to buy a portion of the failed carrier Air Berlin for £35.3 million.
The Sunday Times reported the carrier will purchase will take landing slots at Berlin’s Tegel airport and leases on 25 A320 aircraft.
EasyJet is also interested in taking on 1,000 Air Berlin pilots and cabin crew, according to the newspaper.
In addition, Lufthansa is expected to take more than half of Air Berlin’s fleet.
The final flight by Air Berlin took place on Friday after four decades of operation.
