Celebrity Cruises has revealed the theatre on new ship Edge will extend into the audience.
The space called The Theatre on board Edge features four stage areas, three moving projection screens and dual-directional rotating platform that rises nearly seven foot above the stage.
News of The Theatre’s structure comes as the line revealed a whole host of details about the entertainment on board the 2,918-passenger vessel, due to launch in November.
Five production shows: acrobatic comedy A Hot Summer Night’s Dream; The Jewelry Box; dance show Kaleidoscope; Celebrity Cruises shows The Purpose and Get Up, will be performed at The Theatre.
Brian Abel, senior vice president for hotel operations, said Celebrity had sourced “some of the most advanced technology available” for its entertainment programme.
Passengers will also be able to watch films and live musical performances at the Rooftop Garden on the ship.
The line describes The Club as “a progressive space” where passengers can complete a laser obstacle course, called Drone Hunting, and Funovation Laser Maze Challenge.
Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, Celebrity’s president and chief executive, claimed the line was “changing the future” of its entertainment offering.
She said: “With Celebrity Edge, we have created our biggest and most comprehensive line-up of entertainment to date. We’ve truly taken entertainment to the edge.
“Entertainment on Celebrity Cruises is daring and bold, dynamic and refreshing, surrounding you at every turn.
“It makes every moment of your holiday an unforgettable journey, and the entertainment on Celebrity Edge takes this philosophy further than ever before.
“We are changing the future of our entertainment – just as we are with everything we are doing on Celebrity Edge.”
