Organisational change can be high risk, an expert told delegates on the second day of the Abta Travel Convention.
Jon Hazel, senior advisor at behaviour change business M&C Saatchi Transform, quoted external research which showed that 81% of organisational change projects fail, based on analysis of 40,000 companies.
He described change as being “high risk” and added: “You could lose what you have if you get it wrong.”
Too often companies fail to engage with the people at the heart of change, hindering the overall process.
Hazel discussed how employees need to be involved and quoted a study which suggested that “people not process” transform organisations.
“Too often organisations ignore the people-side of change,” he added.
