An extended summer season to Crete will see Jet2.com and Jet2holidays start serving the Greek island from April next year.
Flights and holidays to Heraklion will be available from five UK airports from April 3 to include the Easter holiday period.
Departures will run from Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Stansted airports until October or early November.
The extended season means that more than 300,000 seats are on sale next year to Heraklion from nine UK bases.
The operator will also serve Chania in Crete from Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Stansted as part of its biggest programme to the island.
Chief executive Steve Heapy said: “As well as being a firm favourite with holidaymakers during the peak summer holiday period, Crete is a destination that is attracting more and more customers in the shoulder seasons.
“This expanded programme shows our commitment to Crete as a fantastic destination to enjoy both during the peak season and outside it.”
Greek National Tourism Organisation UK and Ireland director Emy Anagnostopoulou said: “We are really excited to hear that Jet2.com will be extending the season to Crete by including a full April programme for 2020 with weekly flights from five UK airports.
“The extension of the season will give UK holidaymakers the chance to further explore not only the breath-taking beaches of the island but also the undiscovered beauties of mainland Crete, its exquisite gastronomy and the timeless charm of its mountainous villages.”
