More than two-thirds of Cruise and Maritime Voyages’ capacity for 2020 is already booked, latest company figures reveal.
Flagship Columbus is almost 80% sold for next year and the fleet is more than 70% is booked, according to a business update from the line.
Adventurous cruise itineraries are attracting strong demand, including Greenland, South America, Africa and Australia.
The ship Marco Polo’s Arctic and Greenland voyage is on waitlist only for next year with many now anxious to book for 2021, according to CMV.
Head of marketing Mike Hall said: “Thanks to remarkable support from our trade partners, 2019 has been a good year for CMV.
“The recent announcement that we have acquired two new ships to add to our fleet has further boosted trade and consumer confidence in our traditional British cruise product.”
He added: “CMV passengers prefer booking early so we continue to offer good value prices and strong early booking campaigns to drive business for our trade partners.
“For many of our customers, the planning and anticipation of a cruise to come is part and parcel of the whole experience. CMV’s grand world cruise 2021, which doesn’t depart for over 12 months, has over 430 passengers already booked for the full 121-night voyage with over 320 more choosing from a choice of various sectors.
“Demand for longer cruises to the Amazon, Africa and the Indian Ocean plus journeys to and from Australia are star attractions in 2020.
“Meanwhile, sales of our mainstay cruises around Britain, the breathtaking Norwegian fjords, Baltic cities and St Petersburg plus those itineraries with Iceland included will be popular once more.”
