West Midlands-based Destina Travel has been acquired by The Travel Network Group.
The business includes an agency and a small operator trading under the Mercian Travel brand, which runs bridge and bowling tours.
Gary Lewis, chief executive of The Travel Network Group, said it was in the process of aligning the company’s systems and introducing the team to the consortium.
More: Travel Network Group’s Lisa Henning to leave consortium
Destina Travel is based in Hagley, Worcestershire.
The acquisition follows the news that chief operating officer Lisa Henning is to leave the consortium. Henning, who is also a board director and a shareholder, will step down in 12 months after seven years. Former marketing director Si Morris-Green left the business in February last year.
Both Henning and Morris-Green were part of the team that undertook a management buyout of The Travel Network Group in 2016, along with Lewis, group finance and commercial director Vim Vithaldas, and group operations and risk director Avril Hurd, who left the business in 2017.
