Windstar Cruises’ new build Star Seeker ship has been floated out at a shipyard in Portugal.
Work will now continue to complete the interiors, including 112 suites, ahead of the vessel’s planned entry into service in December 2025.
The 224-passenger vessel is due to reposition sailing from Málaga to Miami where its christening ceremony will take place in January 2026.
Star Seeker will then sail its first voyage in the Caribbean and offer more cruises in the region before heading to Alaska for a full season of summer cruises.
The ship will then sail to Asia, bringing back the line’s Japan itineraries.
Windstar aims to add new sister ship, Star Explorer, in December 2026.
Both will have ice-strengthened hulls, unlocking access to new destinations.
The ships will have tier III Nox-rated Rolls Royce engines and shore power connection capability to minimise port emissions.
Windstar expansion projects vice president John Gunner said: “Seeing a ship come together and be at the point where she leaves dry dock for the sea is a memorable milestone in the life of a new build project.”
