Barrhead Travel has invested £300,000 in the refurbishment of its stores in Glasgow’s Braehead Shopping Centre, Dunfermline and East Kilbride.
The changes to the Braehead shop were completed last month, with work set to begin in Dunfermline and East Kilbride this month.
Each premises is receiving a “complete transformation” with new branding, “experience-led areas”, a furniture refresh and updated store layout.
Barrhead Travel managing director Nicki Tempest-Mitchell said: “High street stores need to feel fresh and innovative to help promote high footfall and we’re determined to make sure we’re providing ongoing investment and job opportunities for the communities where we operate.”
The refurbishment projects include kitting out each store with energy-efficient technology such as LED lighting, new screens and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
In addition to the work in Braehead Shopping Centre, Dunfermline and East Kilbride, the company plans to apply changes in Cumbernauld and Cameron Toll later this year.
Last year, the company made a £250,000 investment in the refurbishment of some of its Scottish network.
The group added that the refurbishment programme would run concurrently with its expansion plans, which are expected to continue this year. In November, a new store opened in Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland.
Tempest-Mitchell said: “Bricks and mortar retail is the heart of our business. We’re fully committed to investing not only in new locations, but to ensure our existing stores have continued support.”
She added: “Revamping our core Scottish locations reaffirms our commitment to the wider Scottish economy. It’s particularly exciting to be investing in the high street this year as we celebrate 50 years in business.
“With demand for a reputable local travel agent at an all-time high, we’re excited to continue helping customers plan their travel plans during 2025.”
