The 250-year lease at the former Scala Theatre, built in 1922, is EasyHotel’s second announcement of a new premises this week, following its £6 million Sheffield investment.
EasyHotel says the 94-room property is expected to open in 2018, and the purchase is subject to planning permission.
The hotel will be built on pedestrianised land at 14-22 Lands Lane, 500 metres from Leeds railway station and close to the city’s popular Victoria Quarter and Trinity shopping district.
Chief Executive Officer Guy Parsons said: “We are delighted to announce our second development project in line with our development strategy announced in September.
