EasyJet holidays welcomes first customers to Egypt

EasyJet holidays has welcomed its first customers to Egypt, with packages to Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada taking off.

The tour operator, the first UK package holiday provider to take customers to Egypt since Covid, had originally announced the start of operations to the winter sun destination in June 2020 to take off in winter 2020 – but travel restrictions as a result of the pandemic delayed the launch.

The first customers to Hurghada will land today, after easyJet holidays’ first packages to Sharm el Sheikh departed on Friday.

Dean Thomas, easyJet holidays’ head of customer operations, greeted the arrivals at Sharm el Sheikh airport.

He said: “We announced our Egypt holidays a long time ago and we’re really excited to be here greeting our first customers and sending them off on their well-earned breaks.

“We’ve had a fantastic response already from the customers we met and we’re seeing and hearing the excitement of others who are travelling this week.

“Egypt holidays have something for everyone, from luxury to family to adults only, so we’re really excited to bring many more people out here for some winter sun this season.

“And we’d like to say a huge thank you to our team and partners on the ground in Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada who are helping us create fantastic holiday experiences.”
