Scoot secures UK and Ireland sales manager ahead of Bangkok flights launch

Yared Bizuneh has been recruited as UK and Ireland sales manager for Singapore Airlines Group low-cost carrier Scoot.

He was previously head of UK and Ireland for Air Arabia and head of leisure sales for Jet Airways.

Bizuneh will be working with trade partners in preparation for the start of Gatwick-Bangkok flights March.

The three flights a week will allow Scoot to connect travellers across its network of 70 destinations, and provide a new gateway between Europe and the larger Asia Pacific region.

Aiden Walsh, head of airline development for representation firm Discover the World, said: “We are delighted to have Yared join the Scoot team, and spearheading our trade team.

“Yared is well known in the UK and Ireland travel industry, with a proven track record on developing sales especially to Southeast Asia.”

Bizuneh added: “I am excited to be part of the Discover the World team, representing the award-winning airline Scoot in the UK and Ireland.

“With Thailand now set to welcome back UK visitors, the timing could not be better to introduce Scoot’s direct service from London Gatwick to Bangkok.

“With Scoot being the only airline to provide a non-stop London Gatwick-Bangkok service, we look forward to engaging with our UK travel trade partners to make this venture a success.”
