Spain ‘top half-term destination by airline seat capacity’

Spain remains the top October half-term destination from the UK by airline seat capacity, latest data reveals.

This comes despite a 35% fall in seats on offer compared to the same pre-pandemic period in 2019, according to travel analytics firm Cirium.

Greece has fared the best, recovering to pre-pandemic levels, followed by India, recording only a 19%  fall in seats over the same period in 2019.

Belgium was the worst of the 15, seeing a drop of 70% compared to the 2019 half-term

The next worst performers were the US and Germany, seeing a 65% drop in seats from the UK.

The level of seats available from airlines has increased across the 15 most visited countries from the UK compared to autumn school half-term in England last year, with France seeing the largest rise of 180%.

Poland sat at the bottom of the table, only seeing a 6% rise in seats from the UK compared to 2020.
