Budget launches car-rental loyalty scheme for UK trade


Budget International has unveiled its global car-rental rewards programme in the UK which has been modelled on airline loyalty schemes.



The Perfect Drive programme for Europe, the Middle East and Africa was launched at Business Travel 2000 and will offer members one point for each euro spent on a Budget car anywhere in the world. Rewards include free rentals, luggage, and sunglasses.



It claims Perfect Drive is the first of its kind in the market.



Budget marketing manager, Kerry Garratt said:”Smaller companies are not global, which is a disadvantage. We think this is going to give us a huge advantage in the market.



Perfect Drive was introduced in the US in 1998. There are now nearly 1m members and Budget says it gets applications from 2,000 people interested in renting cars each day. Budget claims customer loyalty analysis has shown members to be 20% more loyal to Budget than non-members.
