Contiki chief executive Adam Armstrong has stepped down from his role, which he took on during the pandemic.
The youth brand is part of The Travel Corporation (TTC) Tour Brands, which also includes Trafalgar, Insight, Luxury Gold and Costsaver.
In a statement about his move, TTC Tour Brands said: “The portfolio is undertaking a strategic review to enhance efficiency across the TTC Tour Brands while preserving Contiki’s unique identity as the leading youth travel brand.
“During this transition, Melissa DaSilva, currently serving as interim chief executive of TTC Tour Brands, will ensure strong leadership and continuity for the brand.”
The statement added: “We extend our sincere gratitude to Adam for his leadership, dedication, and contributions to Contiki’s growth over the past five years. His efforts have been instrumental in shaping the brand’s direction and recovery post-Covid.”
Armstrong said: “After an amazing five years I am sadly leaving Contiki and moving on to pastures new. Leading such an iconic, legendary brand has been an incredible honour and would not have been possible without my epic team of Contiki rockstars who have consistently “delivered the magic” to our young travellers – and not without a lot of fun and laughter along the way.
“To have recently achieved our highest guest satisfaction scores in the 60-plus year history of the company is testament to the dedication and brilliance of the team around the world.
“Finally, I would like to sincerely thank the Tollman family for putting their faith in me to lead Contiki out of Covid – and I wish both Contiki and TTC every success in their new chapter under Apollo Funds.”
