SeaDream Yacht Club introduces cryptocurrency payment option

SeaDream Yacht Club will accept cryptocurrency as a payment option for all voyages, which it claims is a first in the cruise sector.

Passengers can book voyages across the line’s fleet to the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Norway and Northern Europe using Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and more than 200 other frequently used cryptocurrencies.

The boutique luxury cruise line will implement a digital payment solution on its website and a secure payment option will be fully integrated into the current booking system in the coming weeks.

SeaDream Yacht Club vice-president Andreas Brynestad said: “SeaDream has always been an innovator, setting new standards in luxury travel.

“By accepting cryptocurrency, we are embracing a payment solution that is increasingly sought after by our guests.

“This underscores our commitment to staying ahead of emerging trends. For us, crypto is the natural next step forward.”
