We’re just as tired of shameful treatment as Going Places staff
In response to the letter from a tired Going Places employee (Travel Weekly July 10), we at Lunn Poly are also very disheartened. On return from holiday last month I was confronted with the fact that we are losing a staff member, leaving us three full-time staff. Yet just over the road at Althams, an independent, they have eight staff. How can we be expected to reach targets and compete with this?I know the industry is struggling with the Internet revolution, but how can we keep the heads and figures up if we haven’t got the staff? Customers just end up walking out of the shop and going elsewhere. Plus the administration and brochure drops are piling up, but we never get time to sort it out.
We also have a new staff member who is feeling very let down and is considering leaving already as we have little time to help her. I felt very sorry for the Going Places staff member having to clean the shop as well. Is this the next thing on the cards for Lunn Poly?
