There’s only one way to survive the multiples – get out now
I have some advice for Going Places and Thomas Cook employees – get out now.I was a Going Places assistant manager for four years until Ijoined an independent Advantage travel agency. At Going Places, even though Iwas the shop’s top seller, Iwas constantly being told by a manager half my age that I was failing to perform and asked to explain why I did not confirm every single booking there and then, failed to sell car hire, insurance etc. I found it insulting and felt undermined. Ileft, taking many loyal customers, and joined an Advantage agency.
What a difference. A relaxed atmosphere, happy staff and a whacking great turnover. Loyal customers, great educationals, praise from our area manager and great deals on our own holidays. At the multiples, you will never be valued as individuals or praised for what you do.
A happy Advantage Travel agency employee
