Putting BA in the doghouse could be a stroke of genius
We all know of the arrogance of British Airways but it now appears to have added gross impertinence to the list.I refer of course to your front page Walking the dog story (Travel Weekly July 10).
Presumably, walking clients’ dogs or doing their gardening would need to be done on days off or alternatively in the evening therefore attracting overtime which would nullify any financial gain.
As we deal with clients from Aberdeen to Land’s End to Dover, perhaps we should have contractors all over the country to perform these tasks again nullifying any financial gain.
However, Ihave a far better idea, in return for BA’s 0% commission why don’t we refuse to book any seats on BAaircraft. BAcould then set up kennels at all UKairports to look after the pets of the clients who book direct with them.
The charges they could make for kennelling the animals would help offset the drop in revenue they would incur without the support of travel agents whose helping hand they continue to wish to bite.
Finally, I would just like to give a little bit of advice back to BA – if this is the sort of idea that consultant Nolan Burris can come up with then I suggest BA dispenses with his services quickly before he loses the airline a fortune.
