Springboard reveals activities for Careers Festival
SPRINGBOARD UK, a Government-backed organisation promoting careers in travel and tourism, has unveiled a programme of activities taking place during its Careers Festival 2000.The national initiative, due to be held from October 2-8, will be launched in Chelsea Village in London with an all-day event aimed at industry players and an invited audience of schoolchildren, parents and teachers.
Guests can undertake a skills challenge related to jobs in travel, hospitality and tourism. There will also be a panel game in which children can ask questions of industry professionals. Other events include a bus tour of hotels in Sheffield; a guided tour of Liverpool for 300 schoolchildren; a recruitment fair in Nottingham; and the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working at selected Birmingham tourist attractions.
