ATOC needs to face facts

I HAVE read with great interest about Association of Train Operating Companies looking at the no- commission saga (Travel Weekly August 28).

I would be delighted for someone from ATOC to spend a day in our office and see how he would feel not receiving any payment for the work involved in selling these tickets.

We are located just by a railway station but they are only too happy to send their passengers to us for our expertise and skill.

Remember we all have to pass an exam in order to sell to the public and they are more reliant on a travel agent than possibly ATOC realise.

If in their wisdom they decide to axe commission I will have no problem in sending all the tickets rail cards/seats reservations/sleepers and any other documents back to their accounts in Stevenage and perhaps they would also like to process the return for funds we would owe!

Happy selling to all ATOC agents.
