Expansion programme
Uniglobe considers planto boost agency franchise
UNIGLOBEis looking at an expansion programme that could see the travel agency franchise rise to 50 outlets by the end of next year.
Managing director Michael Levy said the company will have 30 outlets by the end of next month and he is confident the group has the necessary credentials to fight off agency competition.
Under the expansion plans, each of the agencies, which are run by businessmen and not traditional travel agents, will have a leisure arm in addition to a business agency.
Levy said: “Most will be on the high street. We will ensure the locations have room for a corporate set up.
“We will provide them with all the support and technology they need. Our franchisees are not involved in the front line. We help them recruit travel consultants.”
Currently, the corporate side of the business accounts for 65% of revenue but Uniglobe is looking to make the split with leisure 50/50.
Levy: the new agencies will have all the technology and support they require
