* worldspan wins abacus compensation
Worldspan has been awarded £28.6 million in compensation and costs from Singapore-based computer reservation system Abacus. A tribunal of arbitrators based its decision on evidence presented to them by the global distribution system supplier at a three-day London hearing in May last year. Worldspan decided to take legal action after Abacus broke a marketing agreement to form a joint venture with rival Sabre.
* princess cruises adds dining options
Princess Cruises is to offer passengers the option of dining when and with whom they wish rather than being tied to the same sitting every night. The cruiseline plans to roll out its Personal Choice Dining programme across the fleet next year. It will retain the two-sitting system for customers who prefer it.
* national express and eurolines new fares
New Apex fares have been introduced on National Express and Eurolines services for customers who book seven days in advance. New conditions will allow open-dated returns, refunds and for customers to make amendments.
* holland america line rebranding
Holland America Line has rebranded its land-tour arm as Holland America Tours. The move coincides with an expansion of the division, previously known as Gray line of Alaska. The cruiseline plans to step up land operations in Alaska and in other regions where its ships operate.
