BAbegins trial of corporate Web check-in

BRITISH Airways has launched a trial on-line check-in for corporate clients booking direct but has no plans to offer the same service to business travel agents.

The system, which is currently being tested by selected companies via their BA extranets, allows customers to check-in and select seating from either home or the office. Selections can be made up to 24 hours before departure.

A BA spokeswoman said: “At the moment we don’t have any plans to extend the service to agents. It’s just for direct end users.

“Obviously we’ll then be assessing the success of the system.”

If the on-line trial is successful, BA expects to extend the check-in service to the top 200 corporates by March of next year.
