Celebrity ship launch delayed
CELEBRITY Cruises has delayed the launch of its ship, Infinity, because of fears it will not be completed in time.
Sister ship Millennium was delivered unfinished in June and Celebrity’s owner Royal Caribbean International wants to ensure the problem does not happen again.
Infinity was due for launch onFebruary 3 but will now be launched on March 3. Three cruises in February have been rescheduled.
Those with bookings have been guaranteed space on the March sailings and will receive a 50% refund.
Guests unable to rebook will get a full refund and 50% off a future Celebrity cruise. In addition, Infinity’s scheduled cruises for March 10 and 24 will be cancelled. A spokeswoman said:”In future we will allow extra time for the launch of ships, to avoid this happening again.”
A help desk has been set up for travel agents with guests affected by these changes. They can contact: 0800 018 2525.
