Bridge breaks into self-catering market

BRIDGE Travel has launched its first self-catering brochure, Bridge Self Catering and Holiday Villages 2001.

General manager Jackie Willcocks said the company was acting on increased demand for the product.

“We do a lot of focus groups with agents and one of the clear things that emerged is people are very interested in self-catering and this new brochure hopes to take account of that,” she said.

“Until now, we have generally included product such as Centre Parcs and Gran Dorado but with only half a dozen self-catering properties featured.

“There is a real potential for growth especially in the family market. We also hope to attract increased business from couples and groups of young people.”

Willcocks welcomed the link-up with French holiday firm Pierre et Vacances which operates several of the 32 self-catering properties in France featured in the brochure.

“It will really strengthen our self-catering programme in France,” she added.

Self-catering breaks lead in at £53 per person for eight days in Ballybunion on the west coast of Ireland. The price includes ferry crossings and is based on six sharing in November/December.
