* Give a pound to the just a drop appeal
World Travel Market will donate £1 per visitor to the Just a Drop appeal, run in partnership with the British Red Cross. The Give a Pound campaign also aims to encourage visitors to donate at least £1. The money will be used to help families in southern African countries.

at discovery days
The Discovery days at this year’s show will be held on November 15 and 16. Nearly 30 fam trips are up for grabs on theround-the-world product trail including a trip on the Orient Express and a holiday in Thailand.
* Exhibition moves to london’s new excel
World Travel Market is moving to London’s new exhibition and conference centre, ExCel. The show will be held at the waterside development in London’s Docklands in 2002. When it opens this month, ExCel will be the largest exhibition centre in London.
* coming of age party takes on 1920s theme
A Coming of Age party is being staged to celebrate WTM’s 21st birthday. Designed by party organisers The Full Effect to capture the Big Band atmosphere of the 1920s, the bash will feature a cast of 40 performers, as well as two 1920s-style dance bands.
