Islands use WTM to deliver news on hotel developments

The Trinidad and Tobago Tourism Office is hoping to capitalise on its awareness campaign launched in September.

The campaign, operated through a series of roadshows for operators and reservations staff, is intended to promote the two islands as more than just sun, sea and sand.

Particular emphasis is on soft adventure and lesser-known tourism attractions. Developments in the hotel sector will be available, particularly news of the long-awaited Hilton Tobago.

The Sanctuary Villa Resort and Hotel, is also opening on the Grafton Estate in December. One of Tobago’s oldest hotels, the Tropikist Beach Hotel and Resort, has undergone a complete renovation, adding 21 rooms, two restaurants, a pool and a Jacuzzi.

Trinidad tourism officials will be keen to use WTM to highlight their own attractions, including the Trinidad Carnival.

Trinidad is also a haven for birdlife, boasting rare species that cannot been seen anywhere else in the world.
