In our regular market update, agents are seeing an increase in demand for clubbing holidays next summer, based on the 18-30s style breaks.

AGENTS are reporting an increase in bookings for18-30s and 2wentys style holidays.

Although November and December are generally quiet months for holiday bookings, in January agents are expecting to see more summer 2001 clubbing holidays being booked than ever before.

Aldershot-based Going Places travel advisor Lucy Perrin said:”I would expect bookings for the clubbing holidays to go up by about 30% next year. I think these types of holidays are getting more popular because young people are now realising what’s available and are always looking for more.”

Travel Choice in Rayleigh, Essex has also seen a rise in clubbing holiday bookings over the past few years.

Travel consultant Michele Gray said:”Bookings for 2wentys holidays, Thomson’s Freestyle and Airtours Escapades brands are definitely up on previous years – I think early-booking discounts are an incentive to book. We haven’t taken many bookings for next summer, because of Christmas coming up but more people than usual have been in asking for the brochures.”

Sheffield-based Apollo Travel assistant manager Helen Bailey said:”We have had a lot of people asking for the Freestyle and Escapes brochures. It’s a growing market but we haven’t seen many extra bookings.”

The popular destinations for summer sun still include Greece and the islands, Cyprus, Spain and Florida.
