Crew of crashed jet may face criminal charges

THE CAPTAIN and flight crew of a Singapore Airlines aircraft
which crashed at Tawain’s Taipei airport may face criminal charges.

Investigators are trying to find out what caused the flight travelling
from Taiwan to Los Angeles to crash during take off on October 30 killing 83
people.

A spokeswoman for Singapore Airlines confirmed investigators
are trying to establish whether the aircraft had attempted to take off on a
runway which had been closed for repair.

She said: “The possibility of criminal charges has been
mentioned but there is no further evidence on the status of the crew to report.”
