Relocation plan sees Sims quit Virgin Travelstore role

Report by Jeremy Skidmore

VIRGIN Travelstore managing director Ed Sims has quit after
three months in the post as a result of the company’s decision to relocate to
East Anglia.

On March 2, Virgin Travelstore will move out of promises in
Leicester Square in London and Ashford, Middlesex and into offices of Great
Yarmouth-based Worldwide Travel, which is owned by Virgin. Worldwide Travel
will be rebranded as Virgin Travelstore.

Sims, regarded as a highly skilled marketeer, does not want
to relocate and will leave on February 16. The former Airtours sales, marketing
and development director is thought to be considering several options but was
unavailable for comment.
