Short-break market
Eurotunnel helps golfers’ drive, says Cresta
AN increasing number of golfers heading to France for a short break are using Eurotunnel rather than a ferry crossing, Cresta has reported.
Golf product manager Rhonda England said a new road link in northern France has fuelled growth and seen customers driving further.
Speaking at the launch of Cresta’s second-edition brochure, England said: “The new A16 motorway has caused an increase in the number of golfers opting for Eurotunnel or short ferry crossings and driving further, rather than paying extra for a longer crossing.”
She said that despite growth in the last five years, there is still room for expansion.
Prices lead in at £84 per person based on two sharing a three-night break at the Hotel Les Cedres in Camiers inclusive of ferry crossings.
