Training

&#42 The Hong Kong Tourism Board is recruiting for its Specialist Agents self-study training programme, before the current scheme ends in June. Agents need to complete a test to become a Hong Kong Specialist. Qualified agents will benefit from customer referrals from the HKTB, fam trips, destination videos and window displays. In addition, the board is giving the specialist agent who sells the most holidays to the city before the end of March next year a trip to Hong Kong. &#42 The Hellenic Tourism Organisation is holding seven evening workshops in early October. Sessions will be in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Birmingham, Cardiff, Belfast and Dublin. Educationals

&#42 Agents have a month left to earn a place on the Travelpack/Rocky Mountaineer Railroads fam trip through the Rocky Mountains. Places will be decided by a prize draw. To be entered, agents must make a booking on either the Red Leaf or Gold Leaf tours before May 31. Details on 0870 127 1002.

Incentives

&#42 THL Rentals is offering agents the chance to sample its Britz and Maui campervan and motorhomes with the offer of a 50% discount on all rentals booked before this June. Contact THL on 020-8879 7770.

&#42 Kennedy Flight Centre has launched an incentive to encourage agents to book transatlantic flights. Every agent who books a business or first-class fare, or a premium economy or upper-class ticket from Virgin Atlantic, will receive a £10 Marks and Spencer voucher. Every economy passenger booked earns the agent one token and for every 20 tokens earned, Kennedy will award another 20. Tokens are worth £1 each and can be used against personal travel arrangements, or exchanged for M&S vouchers or Whitbread Leisure vouchers. For details contact Marilyn Brooks on 0800 074 9080.
