HILTON has
developed an intranet that slashes the time spent making conference bookings.
Called
Conference On-Line Availability, the intranet application allows Hilton Direct
agents to see at a glance what rooms within the ten hotels included in the
month-long pilot scheme are available.
They can
then make a single-venue booking immediately and on-line. Using the old system
a booking can take up to an hour.
Director
of sales and operations Suzanne Manning said the new system puts Hilton in pole
position in the conference market place.
She added:
“My sales executives are widely recognised as the most professional and
knowledgeable in the industry and COLA will ensure the Hilton Direct team
remains the first choice for conference bookers nationwide.”
A
spokeswoman said the plan is to roll out the intranet region by region once the
ten-hotel pilot scheme has run its course. Also, the ability to make
multi-hotel bookings will be added.
