GILLAirways has appointed former British Midland executive Malcolm Naylor as its new chief executive.
His appointment comes after Malcolm Hart left the northeast- based Gill last year (Travel Weekly October 18).
Naylor worked as special projects director at British Midland. He was previously a managing director at Brymon Airways and has worked for Manx Airlines, British Regional Airlines and Kenya Airways. Naylor will concentrate on building up Gill’s franchise operation with Air France, which currently includes Paris flights from Newcastle, Teeside and Humberside. While at Brymon, Naylor helped the airline in its role as a franchise carrier for British Airways. “It is important for us to maximise our potential by building on both sides of our scheduled business – our own services and those we operate for Air France,” he said.
