Regal pushes rebrand with £25 offer

The Regal Hotel Group is offering agents the chance to sample its properties for £25 a night this year to help promote its rebranding programme to Corus.

The 110-strong chain is mailing a six-page flyer to agents giving details of the offer.

A spokeswoman said: “We want to encourage agents to sample the hotels and raise awareness of the brand. The travel trade is such an important vehicle for us.”

Normal room-only rates vary from £70 for the County Hotel in Ipswich to £170 for the Regency Hotel in Solihull.

The rebranding schedule for this year is currently being finalised but all 110 properties are expected to be completed by next year. Some 29 hotels have already been finished. The properties’ interior design, staff uniforms and menu and staff training are all being changed and improved as part of the rebranding to the Corus name.

The £25 agent rate includes continental breakfast but a cooked English breakfast is £3 extra. Rooms are for a maximum of two people and the special rate is available for a total of two nights stay.

The rate is valid until December 30. Bookings can be made by calling 0870 6073425.

Last year’s £20 agent rate contributed £120,000 of business in 1999.

Meanwhile, the hotel group is sending out invitations for fam trips to agents over the next few months. Overnight stays with activities, entertainment and dinner are planned at a number of hotels between March and December. The trips are by invitation only.
