THE
new chief executive of the British Incoming Tour Operators Association has
attacked Tony Blair for harming tourism.
Stephen
Dowd, BITOA chief executive-designate, criticised the prime minister for
damaging the work his members do with inflammatory comments.
Blair
has warned it was inevitable there would be a terrorism attack on the UK this
year, but Dowd rounded on the statement.
He
said: “This doesn’t make it any easier for our members to attract people to
Britain. You can’t control what politicians say, but this is not good at a time
when we are seeing a gradual recovery.”
