BRITISH Airways has suspended its flights to Saudi
Arabia until further notice after security threats against its aircraft.
The decision follows discussions between the airline
and the Department of Transport.
BA director of safety and security Geoff Want said:
“As a matter of precaution we have decided to suspend all flights to Saudi
Arabia for the time being and we will continue to liase closely with the
British Government.”
BA operates eight flights a week to Saudi Arabia – four each
to Riyadh and Jeddah.
