GO is to launch flights from Stansted to Glasgow in summer 2000 following a KLM UK decision to axe its service.
The British Airways subsidiary is likely to start a thrice-daily service with fares from £50 return. Chief executive Barbara Cassani said the KLM UK decision had brought plans forward for Glasgow flights.
Ryanair now plans to increase frequencies to up to nine daily flights instead of seven on Stansted-Glasgow. KLMUK will drop the Glasgow route, and the Stansted-Edinburgh service, on March 26 due to poor loads. There will be 23 redundancies.
