EBOOKERS is advertising on television for the
first time as part of a £6 million marketing campaign.
The Cendant Corporation-owned company joins other major traditional
companies which have new year television advertising planned –
namely TUI under the Thomson brand, First Choice and Thomas
Cook.
Ebookers’ 12-week TV campaign, starting on Christmas Day, was
planned before Cendant’s £209 million purchase of the
online retailer last month.
The advertisement strapline is ‘The Greatest Show is Earth’
and is introduced by British actor Brian Blessed. It features a
whirlwind tour of some of the world’s top tourist
destinations, including New York, South Africa, Dubai and
Thailand.
The campaign also includes direct mail, Internet banner advertising
and advertisements on the London Underground.
