CHARGES have been dropped against the wife of disgraced
former ABTA legal chief Riccardo Nardi.
All eight charges against Samantha Nardi were dropped at
Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court, ending 12 months of agony for the
mother-of-three.
Husband Riccardo Nardi has already been remanded in custody
after pleading guilty to 24 charges of fraud and will be sentenced
on March 16.
Prosecuting barrister Michael Hick told the court: “There would
be no public interest in pursuing the case against Mrs Nardi.”
A brief statement issued by solicitor Stephen Smith on behalf of
Mrs Nardi said: “Her world has fallen apart since first learning
about these allegations and she now wishes to concentrate on
rebuilding her life with her children.
“From the outset Samantha has maintained that she knew nothing
about, and was not involved in, the theft of, or laundering of,
monies from ABTA.”
