Advantage is to launch a loyalty points scheme for
members when booking holidays with preferred
operators.
The scheme – being unveiled at this weekend’s
Advantage conference in Sorrento by consortium managing director
John McEwan – is at the early stages of development but would
see members accrue loyalty points when making holiday bookings with
potentially up to 30 preferred partners.
Those points could then be spent on holidays and a raft of items
from other retailers in a points catalogue. The scheme will be
similar to the consumer Nectar card scheme that sees a number of
retailers – including Debenhams and Sainsbury’s –
offer points which can be exchanged for money off.
“We are working with a number of our preferred partners to offer
a points scheme where members could exchange the points for money
off holidays or products in a catalogue,” McEwan said. “It’s
a bit too early to give any more details.”
