BUTLINS is putting on a Celebrity Pop Academy for holidaymakers this summer.
Former glamour model Linda Lusardi will be hosting the break and participants will include Shaun Williamson and Nick Bailey who played Barry Evans and Dr Truman in EastEnders, and Mark Morraghan who has appeared in both Holby City and Brookside.
Not only will the celebrities have to have singing and dance lessons, they will also get an image make-over to help them in their bid to be crowned Celebrity Pop Star.
The academy takes place at Bognor Regis, Minehead and Skegness between July 24 and 28, and July 31 and August 4.
Prices start from £109 per person per break, based on four sharing a Silver self-catering apartment at the Minehead resort.
Meanwhile, rival holiday park operator Park Resorts is poised to invest £5 million into its swimming pools this winter.
The money will be spent in several resorts and follows on from a £30 million cash injection into swimming pools, an entertainment centre and general building improvements during the past year.
Park Resorts marketing and travel trade manager Geoff Barnes said: “From the agents’ point of view, they know that when they sell a Park Resorts holiday, they can guarantee their clients a good standard of product.”
The investment will be used to fund swimming pools at Naze Marine, Martello Beach and Coopers Beach in Essex, as well as Cresswell Towers, Withernsea Sands and Crimdon Dene in the northeast.
