AGENCY staff have raised more than £200 for Dogs for the Disabled by hosting a themed Australia week and a sponsored dog walk.
The efforts of staff at Tomorrows World Travel in Loughborough were rewarded with a guest appearance by the charity’s four-month black Labrador puppy Pele, who is being trained to be an assistant dog for disabled people.
Staff took their four-legged friends on an 11-mile walk from Birstall to Loughborough, while the Australia week included a charity treasure hunt, children’s colouring competition, raffle, and special holiday deals.
The charity is the only organisation in the UK to train dogs to help disabled adults and children with tasks such as opening doors and bringing in the milk.
