A MASSIVE 98% of Travel Counsellors homeworkers claim they wouldn’t return to the high street.
The figure, from the company’s annual homeworker survey, has increased from 96% in 2005.
An overwhelming 95% of Personal Counsellors claim they are happier now than in their previous job, citing a number of reasons, including no commuting, flexible hours and more free time.
Nearly all (97%) of the 541 Travel Counsellors polled said they would recommend the organisation to high-street agents.
Travel Counsellors support, including head office, the weekly webcast, the annual conference and business development meetings, were all rated as good or excellent by nine out of 10 homeworkers.
All polled rated the company’s technology as good or excellent.
Managing director Steve Byrne said the high level of support has led to a homeworker retention rate of more than 90%, in an industry which has an average staff turnover rate of around 30%.
“Despite expanding the company rapidly we have made an effort not to neglect our existing Travel Counsellors,” he said.
The typical Travel Counsellor is female, a former agency owner or manager with an average 18 years’ experience. Almost a quarter (23%) have children under five years old.
Meanwhile, two-thirds revealed they are earning more money thanks to the organisation’s in-house dynamic packaging system Phenix, with a further 6% saying their earnings have remained the same but would have reduced without the system.
Dynamic packaging now accounts for 22% of all Travel Counsellors’ bookings.
