Green accolade for Marriott’s London hotels – 1 Nov 2006

Marriott’s 20 London hotels have been awarded the green globe certification, the first hotel chain in the capital to reach the environmental standard.

Green Globe is a global environment certification programme for the travel and tourism industry and has worked with Marriott to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions per occupied room.

Green Globe managing director Reg Easy said: “Marriott and Green Globe are two of the most recognised and respected brands in travel and tourism. They are working together to support the planet and their community.

“Achieving Green Globe certification offers Marriott two benefits. It gives public recognition for its strong environmental programme. Secondly it gives access to information and ideas to continue to improve its performance.”
